Gargnäs- Råstrand fishing area

 River Vindelälven:

Gargnäs-Råstrand fishing area is managing one of the best fishing stretches in river Vindelälven for salmon. The salmon fishing is though affected by amount of water in the river and boat fishing is the most common method both for spinning and fly fishing. Local guides and rodders will dramatically increase your catch possibilities.  Fishing for salmon normally starts up in the middle of July but august must be considered as prime time. Best time for grayling is normally July until the end of September and trout June- September. The average grayling in the river weighs between 3-5 hg, but fish over one kilo is caught every year.

River Gargån:

The river is typical for a Lapland forest stream with varying rapids and slower parts. The river is habitat restored due to floatway constructions and the riverbank is surrounded by large boulders and thick birch forest. Gargån is perfect suited for flyfishing and has therefore a rich insect fauna. Grayling is dominant but trout can also be caught along the whole stretch. The average weight of fish is similar to river Vindelälven.  Since 2008 we have a special area only for flyfishing in the upper part of the river.
